The budget for a school playground project is a plan which shows how all the money will be spent. This is called expenditure. It could also show where all the money has come from. This is called income.
Working to a budget helps you to keep track of your spending. You don’t want to run out of money before the project is finished – the expenditure should not be more than the income.
